Girl's Night Out

I couldn't wait to go out with my two best friends this past Saturday! We had been planning it for a long time. I've come to the conclusion that we definitely need more nights like this!!! Connie, Erin and I had a blast going to dinner and just catching up on everything. We started out at Shogun's. The food was good, but our chef guy was kind of a dud. Connie and Erin tried their first ever California Roll. Connie liked it but I don't think Erin really did. We wound up at Growler's Pub outside on their patio. It was an awesome night...almost a little chilly. We had such a great time and I can't wait to do it again!

Aunt Patti's Visit

The weekend of August 15th, Gerry's Aunt Patti and her husband Don came in from Louisiana to see a Card's game. Karen and Maureen went to the game with them Friday night and Saturday, Bobb and Laura had everyone over to their house for lunch. Maria and I were at my friend Laurie's daughter's birthday party, so we had to miss. Gerry said the food was great and everyone had a good time. Here are a few pictures from the lunch.

Laura's Birthday

On August 14th, Gerry, Maria, Naomi and I drove a long way to celebrate Laura's Birthday and to eat some yummy crab legs! We went to Joe's Crab shack! It was the first time Gerry and I had been there! I was so excited because I hadn't had crab legs in so long! The kids, and Olivia, too, were so well behaved. Naomi was so good, we didn't even have to take her out of her car seat. She was wide awake the whole time just taking it all in! Maria loved the lights and the disco ball and Olivia chowed down on some calamari! The food was great...I can't wait to go back!

Family Pictures

Back in July, we had family pictures taken with some wonderful photographers who came to our house. We got the pictures back yesterday and they turned out really good. We are really happy with them. We hoped Maria would cooperate a little more, but overall she did okay. Here are a few of our favorites!

Fun Weekend!

This weekend, Gerry and I decided to have a bar-b-q with some of our neighbors. John and Melissa used to live across the street from us but had to move to Arizona because of John's work. They were in town recently and we thought it would be fun to have them, and some of our other friends from the neighborhood, over for dinner. Gerry bar-b-qued burgers, hot dogs and Italian sausage he got from Viviano's. Our neighbor Theresa brought pasta salad and artichoke dip, Jen brought a spicy relish dip and a berry pie, and Melissa brought corn and cucumbers, tomatoes and onions in Italian dressing. I also baked (yes, that's right...I baked) S'mores bars. We all had a lot of fun and the kids played really well together. Parker, Mason and Sydney are getting so big. It's sad that they don't live close to us anymore because Mason and Maria really enjoyed playing together. And little Sydney is such a doll!

Sunday was our niece Olivia's 1st birthday party. I can't believe that little squirt is already a year old! The party was a lot of fun and Laura did a great job with all the decorations. They had a cupcake theme and Laura baked Olivia's cake out of a giant cupcake mold. It was too cute! Unfortunately, I was only able to take a few pictures of Olivia eating her cake. She sure had fun eating it!

Naomi is 3 months old!

This weekend marked Naomi's 3 month birthday! She is growing up fast! We are so blessed to have this wonderful little person in our lives. She is so happy and sweet and she smiles all the time! Lately, Naomi has been sleeping 6-8 hours through the night. Sometimes she wakes up to eat, but usually goes back to sleep pretty quickly. Although we try really hard to get her to sleep in her bassinet, she prefers to sleep in the swing. She is starting to hold her head up better, but hates tummy time. Naomi is also starting to grasp toys and hold on to them when we put them in her hand. She loves to watch Maria jump and dance around, and she is even beginning to laugh a little.

Our Weekend 7-31-09

This weekend was pretty eventful! It started off on a Thursday for us when Gerry and I went to the Cardinal's game using tickets Gerry got from work. I was excited to have my first night out without the kids since before Naomi was born and this was my first Card's game all year. My mom came over to watch the girls, which was great because that meant we didn't have to pick them up after the game. We had a lot of fun. Our seats were great- we sat in a box with all you could eat and drink! The game went into extra innings and unfortunately, the Card's lost.

Friday, Maria had her 2 year check up. Maria knew something was going on because she began acting really weird when we got there. She's used to going there for Naomi, but she was very suspicious when the doctor started examining her. She didn't like it one bit. She was swatting the doctor's hands away when she tried to listen to her heart, and she wouldn't cooperate at all when she tried to look in her ears and mouth. Overall, the doc said everything looks good. Maria weighs 25 pounds, which still only puts her in the 25th percentile. But that's been consistent ever since she was born. She was being too much of a stinker to get an accurate height measurement, but she measured approximately 34 inches. Maria also had to get 2 shots that day. It was harder on me than it was on her. She cried for a few minutes, but then was excited about her band-aids.

Saturday -- I got to sleep in!!!! I was so excited that Gerry was kind enough to get up with both of the girls and let me sleep! I felt great and extremely well rested! When I woke up, both of them had already been fed and Naomi was already sleeping again. What a great husband and dad Gerry is!

Saturday night, Gerry and I had our second night out. We went to our good friend Bryan's 30th birthday party at the Sports Zone. We thought we would divide up the girls this time to make it easier on the grandparents. My mom came over to watch Naomi and Gerry took Maria down to his parent's house. We had a great time at the party! It was really nice catching up with people and hanging out with other adults for a while!

Sunday evening we all went over to my mom's house for dinner and to meet Uncle Marc and John's new dog- Gryphon. They got him a few weeks ago. He is a Jack Russell/Maltese mix and he is so cute! Maria loved him. They ran around together in the backyard and Maria just laughed and laughed! It was funny.

Here are some pictures from our eventful weekend! There are also some other random pics in the slideshow of Naomi sitting up in her Bumbo, and playing in the new baby Gymini activity mat that we got for her last weekend.
